The world of the show
Hollywoof
Hollywoof is an independent city-state next to Montenegro that nobody knows about: an island shaped like a dog’s paw. The pad, its biggest part, is ordinary Montenegrin nature, while the toes are other biomes, winter, desert and swamp among them. The sea around it is full of talking sharks. The town is earthquake-prone, with a marina, Barkley Avenue and a central plaza. John Dog, sheriff back then, saw no real crime in 57 months — until Puppy Jay’s Roomba ran off. Now it fights cat gangs and bootleg “Moonshine Toilet Water”, debates its sheriff race on Sunday Puppy Jay, and has one licensed pilot left.
How an episode works
The world's first Sunday dog talk show mixes "news, comedy, chaos, and dachshund philosophy". A cold-open mishap leads into the jingle; Puppy Jay then hosts from his studio desk, with jingles between segments. Field reporter Vicky Licky goes live from the scene, the Camera Guys film everything, and the host calls his experts: Shark for money, Bark Grylls for survival, Dr. Pawsitive for feelings, Professor Pawstradamus for the stars. Hacker Dinanimus hijacks the feed. Each show ends with sponsor shout-outs, a call for pet videos, "My name is Puppy Jay — and I'll see you next Sunday!" and fans chanting "I love Puppy Jay!"
Running gags
- Toilet water is the town's favorite drink — sparkling, straight, "seaside edition", or bootleg moonshine.Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 8, Episode 10, Episode 11 …
- "I… hate… cardio…" — Puppy Jay's breathless verdict on every chase, escape and staircase.Episode 1, Episode 4, Episode 6, Episode 20
- Dinanimus hijacks the feed — "Don't try to trace me" — signs off "Brace yourself", and keeps nearly saying "my bro—".Episode 4, Episode 6, Episode 7, Episode 9, Episode 11 …
- Puppy Jay "borrows" Daddy's credit card in emergencies and escapes awkward calls — and invoices — by faking a bad connection.Episode 7, Episode 10, Episode 13, Episode 14
- Puppy Jay keeps hoping Pawrantulas are a legend — even after one moves into his toilet.Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 21
- The Camera Guys are always rolling — through a boulder, a zombie, an alien spaceship and a balloon flight.Episode 2, Episode 6, Episode 9, Episode 11, Episode 18 …
- Vicky Licky follows her "journalistic instinct" everywhere — though it didn't see the alien abduction coming.Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6, Episode 9, Episode 13 …
- Puppy Jay can never remember the demon’s name — “Wufflepufristo?” “Pufristo!” “Pupisto, right?” — it’s Woofisto, Lord of the Underworld.Episode 13, Episode 18, Episode 20, Episode 22
